Jimmy White believes he can still make an impact on the snooker world at the age of 46, despite missing out on this year’s world championship.

The snooker ace, popularly known as ‘The Whirlwind’ and runner up on six occasions at The Crucible, insists that he is planning to return to the big tournaments when the new season begins in the autumn 2008.

Jimmy sends a defiant message to his detractions by saying “I know I still retain that hunger and anyone who thinks I don’t, or believes I will be retiring, is very much mistaken.”
