Most fishing commentaries concern themselves with a few paragraphs about collecting worms, but few go into any real detail as to what to expect under different conditions. The one common factor which encourages worms out into the open is a wet evening and night.
This may take different forms; a mild dewy night, an evening of light drizzle, or a night of medium or torrential rain. Generally the more water present, the better the conditions, for worms to put in an appearance.
