Comedian Bernie Mac died at Northwestern Memorial hospital in Chicago early Saturday morning. He had an inflammatory lung disease and had been battling pneumonia. Mac was 50 years old. (Aug. 09)

The new Batman film ‘The Dark Knight’ as arrived if you hadn’t heard. It’s big, it’s dark. Christian Bale rides a Bat-Bike and Heath Ledger’s likely to win an Oscar for his performance as the joker.

The stars of the new movie graced the red carpet for its European Premiere earlier in July. Christian Bale, who plays the superhero, was upstaged by the Batmobile. Hundreds of fans cheered as the 2.5 tonne six wheeled vehicle turned up in London for the premiere.

The film took a record £77.7 million in the United States in its opening weekend. It is also predicted to be the biggest film of 2008, and possibly of all time.
